The Griffin cross country teams kicked off their 2025 season on the road at Edinboro and the Doug Watts Open on Saturday afternoon.  

Cody Achilles led the Griffin men to a sixth place finish by finishing second overall in the men's race.  The women's team finished in 11th place in the event. 

Achilles finished second in the 6K race in a time of 19:21.  Kaden Crump was 17th overall in a time of 20:16.6.  Shae Sintz was 59th.  He ran the course in a time of 21:27.7.  Kamsi Obuekwe was 66th in a time of 21:39.  

Marissa Manko led the women's team with a 60th place finish.  She ran the 5K race in a time of 21:05.8.  Katelyn Stravinsky was 83rd in a time of 21:55.3.  Jada Freeman was 85th in a time of 21:58.5.

The teams will head to Youngstown State in two weeks.
