Seton Hill began play in the Embry Riddle Tourney on Friday with a pair of matches. The Griffins battled the host school in the first match of the day before taking on #11 Barry in their second match of the day,
Embry Riddle battled back in each set to defeat the Griffins in three sets in the first match of the day. #11 Barry then defeated the Griffins in three sets in the night cap. SHU is now 4-4 on the season.
The Eagles rallied for a 25-23 first set win over the Griffins. Embry Riddle took the second set by a 25-19 score and closed out the match with a 25-21 third set win.
Payton Rodberg led the Griffins with eight kills in the match.
Mallory Meinen had nine assists.
Ella Deeter finished with four blocks. Rodberg led with 15 digs while
Kendyl Wagner added 14.
The Buccaneers won the first set over the Griffins by a 25-17 score. They won the second set 25-14 and then won the third set 25-19.
Courtney Smith and
Catie Flohr each had seven kills to lead the Griffins. Meinen ran the offense with 12 assists, Meinen added 11 digs.
SHU will close out play in Daytona Beach on Saturday with a matchup with Clark Atlanta.
