The Griffin men's lacrosse program was honored by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) with academic honors on Tuesday.
The entire team earned the USILA Division II Team Academic Award. They were one of 31 Division II Teams to earn the honor. To be eligible, the team needed at least a 3.25 GPA for the 2024-25 school year. This is the fifth year of the award and the Griffins have earned the award in all five seasons it was awarded.
Three members of the Griffin team also were named USILA Scholar All Americans. They included
Justin Dian,
Connor Zostant,
Braedan Lockyer and
Alex Callahan.
The four were one of 56 Division II student athletes to earn the award.
The USILA Scholar All American team was established in 1989 to recognize student athletes from USILA member institutions that distinguish themselves academically, athletically and in their communities.
To be eligible for the Scholar All American Team, a student athlete must be a senior member of their team and be nominated by their coach and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. He must have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution and college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All American, a member of a North/South team or an outstanding league or conference player.
