After advancing to their third straight NCAA Atlantic Super Regional, the postseason awards continue to fly in for the Seton Hill baseball program. On Tuesday morning, the team picked up honors from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
The Griffins won one of the three major awards from the D2CCA for the Atlantic Region and also added three first team All Region selections.
Redshirt junior starter
Ian Korn was named the D2CCA Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year. Korn was also a first team All Region selection as a starter. Joining Korn on the first team were graduate student starting pitcher
Jon McCullough and sophomore shortstop
Owen Henne.
It is the first D2CCA All Region honor for all three student athletes. All three were first team All PSAC West selections and NCBWA First Team All Region selections.
Korn is 11-1 on the season with a 1.51 ERA. In his 13 starts, Korn allowed just 50 hits in 77.1 innings of work. Ian struck out 76 and opponents hit just .181 off him. McCullough is 9-3 on the season with a 2.25 ERA. Jon worked 80 innings, allowing 70 hits while striking out 61.
Henne leads the Griffins with a .368 average. Owen also leads the team with 52 RBI. He has 13 doubles, 1 triple, 8 homers and 23 stolen bases on the season.
The Griffins will play East Stroudsburg in the NCAA Atlantic Super Regional beginning on Thursday.
