After earning their eighth straight trip to the PSAC Tournament, the Griffin softball program earned honors from the PSAC on their All PSAC West Teams.  The awards were released by the league on Tuesday afternoon and are nominated and voted on by the head coaches in the league. 

Highlighting the awards were one of the four major award winners.  Freshman pitcher Shelby Telegdy was named the PSAC West Freshman of the Year.  

Four members of the team earned All PSAC West honors with two first team all conference selections and two second team selections.

Senior second baseman Brooklyn Fukushima and redshirt sophomore Kassidy Wittig were first team selections.  Senior outfielder Bre Athey and Telegdy were named to the second team.  Fukushima and Wittig each earned their second All PSAC West award.  

Fukushima leads the Griffins with a .414 batting average.  She added 11 doubles, seven homers and 35 RBI.  Wittig is second on the team with a .412 batting average.  She added 10 doubles, two triples and 29 RBI.  Telegdy leads the Griffins with nine homers.  She hit .381 with 7 doubles and 36 RBI.  Telegdy was also 12-8 with a 3.18 ERA in the circle.  Athey hit .374 on the season.  She leads the team with 19 doubles and 38 RBI while adding two triples and four homers.  

SHU will begin play in the PSAC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
