Seton Hill closed out PSAC West action with a doubleheader at home against Edinboro on Friday afternoon.
SHU walked off Edinboro in game one with a 3-2 come from behind victory. SHU made it a sweep with a 10-0, 5 inning win in game two. SHU is now 29-15 overall and 18-10 in the west.
Edinboro scored a run in the top of the first inning and added a second run in the top of the third inning of game one as they took a 2-0 lead over the Griffins.
The Scots held the Griffins hitless until the bottom of the sixth inning when pinch hitter
Lacey Lynn homered on a 1-0 pitch to end the shutout and no hitter.
SHU won the game in the seventh. After an out,
Anna Kalkowski drew a walk.
Brooklyn Fukushima singled to put two runners on. With two outs,
Bre Athey doubled down the right field line to tie the score at two. SHU then won the game when
Abby Smearman reached on an error with Fukushima scoring the winning run.
Briahna McCombs earned the win with four innings of scoreless relief.
The Griffins scored twice in the bottom of the first inning of game two as they took a 2-0 lead over the Scots. Lynn drove in a run with an RBI groundout.
SHU added on in the third inning. With one out,
Grace Paredes tripled and scored on a
Brooklyn Fukushima RBI single.
The Griffins put the game away in the fourth with seven runs. Fukushima knocked in two with a single. Kalkowski added two more with a single. Athey made it 10-0 with a two RBI single after a lengthy lightning delay.
Fukushima and Kalkowski each had two hits to lead the Griffins. Lynn earned the win in the circle with a complete game one hitter. She struck out three.
SHU will now play in the PSAC Tournament next week starting on Wednesday in Quakertown, PA.
