Seton Hill continued PSAC West play on Wednesday afternoon as they traveled to #12 Slippery Rock in a matchup to determine the top spot in the PSAC West standings.
The Griffins scored nine of the last ten goals of the contest but it was not quite enough as their comeback came up just short in an 11-10 loss to the Rock. SHU falls to 11-5 overall and 7-2 in the west. The Rock improves to 14-1 overall and 9-0 in the west.Â
The Griffins could not hold onto the ball in the first quarter as they committed 10 turnovers but the defense and goal keeping kept them in the game as they only trailed 2-0 at the end of the quarter. The Rock outshot the Griffins 14-1 in the quarter. Â
The Rock opened the second quarter scoring the first four goals as they built a 6-0 lead.Â
Skylar Orlowski got the Griffins on the board at the six minute mark to trim the lead to 6-1. Slippery Rock led 7-1 at the halftime break. Â
Slippery Rock extended its lead to 10-1 in the early portion of the third quarter. SHU got a pair of goals from Orlowski to trim the lead to 10-3 after three. Â
The fourth quarter was all Seton Hill as they outscored the Rock 7-1 in the quarter. The Rock scored the first goal of the quarter less than a minute in to take a 11-3 lead.Â

Mila Udovicic and
Sydney Marusko scored before the ten minute mark as SHU cut the lead to 11-6. Goals from Orlowski and
Grace Agnello less than a minute apart cut the lead to 11-8 with 6:46 to play. Orlowski scored two more, the last with 1:58 left to cut the lead to one. The Griffins got the ball back with a chance to tie but turned the ball over with around 1:20 left and the Rock ran out the clock.
Orlowski led SHU with six goals. Agnello and Udovicic added a goal and two assists.Â
Emma Zepp made five saves in the fourth quarter. Â
The Griffins will continue PSAC West play on Saturday as they close out the regular season hosting Gannon for Senior Day. Â
