Seton Hill began its outdoor season on the road at IUP's Ed Fry Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Indiana, PA.
The men's team finished third overall and had 21 top 10 finishes. The women's team was fourth overall with 21 top 10 finishes. Â
Haley Brenny led the women's team with a first place finish in the 200. She ran a time of 25.34. Brenny was also fourth in the 400 in a time of 58.53.Â
Koschinya Jefferson and
Sarah Gilliam each had three top ten finishes on the day. Jefferson was fourth in the long jump (5.23m), fourth in the shot put (11.50m) and tenth in the 100 (12.94). Gilliam was third in the hammer (42.71m), fifth in the discus (32.17m) and eighth in the shot put (10.28m). Â
Nemani Moon,
Layla Robertson,
Baine Snyder and
Rebekah Daniszewski each had two top ten finishes. Moon was second in the 200 (25.56) and 3rd in the 400 (58.26). Robertson was sixth in the 200 (26.38) and eighth in the 400 (1:02.33). Snyder was 3rd in the pole vault (2.80m) and seventh in the high jump (1.50m). Daniszewski was sixth in the hammer (38.02m) and ninth in the shot put (10.22m). Â
Keelin Becker was third in the triple jump with a leap of 9.84 meters.Â
Jordan Fairman was fourth in the 800 in a time of 2:33.29.Â
Kate Pipilo was second in the 1500 (4:54.82) and
Anessa Pigula was ninth (5:17.23). Maddie Roberts was eighth in the javelin (17.49m). Â
Jacy Willis had a pair of first place finishes to lead the men's team. He was first in the 400 in a time of 49.28 and first in the 200 in a time of 21.59.Â
Malwandla Baloyi was first in the high jump, clearing 1.95m and fifth in the 110 hurdles (15.67). Â
Blaise Verrastro,
John Giansante and
Angelo Allen each had two top ten finishes. Verrastro was second in the 400 (49.52) and third in the 200 (22.06). Giansante was third in the triple jump (12.60m) and fourth in the long jump (6.69m). Allen was third in both the hammer (48.43m) and shot put (14.87m). Â
Cody Achilles was second in the 5K in a time of 15:56.95.Â
Kaden Crump was second in the 800 in a time of 1:57.64.Â
Cody Scherle was third in the javelin (45.24m) and
Dylan Brooks was fourth (41.70m).Â
Ben Kissell was fifth in the pole vault, clearing 3.75m.Â
Nick McCarthy was fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.65m. Â
Gage Grassmyer was fifth in the 400 (52.31).Â
Roman Brenny was ninth (53.56) and
Devin Underwood was tenth (53.70). Anthony Sacco was eighth in the 110 hurdles (16.43) and
Xander Zilka was ninth in the hammer (44.39m). Â
Both teams will compete in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational next weekend in Pittsburgh.Â
