Griffins Fall at #2 Pace

Seton Hill made the trip to Pleasantville, NY and Pace University for a top twenty matchup on Saturday afternoon as the Griffins took on #2 Pace.

The Griffins battled #2 Pace but dropped a 17-14 decision on the road.  SHU falls to 1-1 on the season while Pace improves to 3-0.  

The Griffins jumped on the host school, scoring three goals in the first five minutes as they took an early 3-0 lead over the Setters.  Carleigh Sutfin scored the opening goal and Skylar Orlowski followed with two as SHU took the early lead.  Pace responded with five straight before Grace Agnello scored with 41 seconds to play in the quarter, cutting the lead to 5-4.  

Pace scored the first three goals of the second quarter as they built an 8-4 lead over SHU midway through the quarter.  Orlowski added two more and Agnello scored one as the Griffins ended the quarter on a 3-1 run to trim the lead to 9-7 at the half.  

The Setters scored four of the five third quarter goals as they built a 13-8 lead after three quarters of play.  Ruby DePalma scored the SHU goal in the third.   

SHU then rallied early in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter as they outscored the Setters 4-0 to trim the lead to 13-12 with 9:06 left.  Orlowski scored a pair with Sutfin and Agnello adding the others.  Orlowski answered a Pace goal with another goal to cut the lead to 14-13 with 7:37 to play.  Pace was able to put the game away by scoring the next three goals and taking a 17-13 lead.  

Orlowski led the Griffins with 7 goals. Grace Agnello added three goals and two assists. Mila Udovicic added three assists. Carleigh Sutfin registered two goals. Allison Hathaway recorded 13 saves

The Griffins will travel to Frostburg State on Wednesday afternoon.
