Seton Hill closed out their regular season on Saturday afternoon with a PSAC West matchup at Gannon.
The Griffins led by nine at the half but gave up 54 second half points in a 92-86 loss. SHU is now 15-13 overall and 8-12 in the PSAC. The Griffins earn the sixth seed out of the west for the PSAC Tournament. Â
SHU took an early 12-4 lead less than four minutes into the first half.Â
Ryan Meis hit a pair of threes in the run. Another Meis three extended the lead to 17-10 with 13:30 left in the half. Meis continued his hot shooting as he hit another three to give SHU a 24-16 lead midway through the half.Â
The Griffins continued their hot shooting from three point land as
James Rice hit a three to push the lead to 35-22 with 6:13 left. Gannon trimmed the lead to five before
Camden Brewer hit a three to make it 40-32 with 2:27 left. SHU led 47-38 at the halftime break. Â
SHU did not score over the first six minutes of the second half and Gannon built a 55-47 lead. With 6:41 to play, Gannon led 74-62 but the Griffins made a run and cut the lead to 76-74 with a 12-2 run with 3:34 to play.Â
Edir Ortiz scored the final five points of the run. Gannon put the game away by hitting eight of nine free throws down the stretch. Â
Meis led the Griffins with a game high 30 points. Ortiz added 20 points.Â
Kedrick Curtis added 14 points and Brewer also reached double figures with 10 points. Â
SHU will travel to third seed Edinboro on Monday evening for a 7 PM start in the PSAC First Round. Â
