The Griffin track and field teams took part in the Grand Valley State Big Meets on Friday and Saturday in Allendale, Michigan at Grand Valley State University.
The teams had a record breaking weekend as they broke school records and added an NCAA mark in the two day event.
On Saturday in the Big Meet #2,
Nemani Moon broke her own school record in the 400. She finished fourth with a time of 57.61.
Jacy Willis hit an NCAA mark with a second place finish in the 400 in a time of 48.15.
Kaden Crump ran a top four time in SHU history in the 800, finishing in a time of 1:55.77.
Malwandla Baloyi was first in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.98m.
Andrew Campbell was second in the 60 with a time of 6.92. Willis was also third in the 200 in a time of 22.19.
Blaise Verrastro was third in the 400 (48.74) and third in the 200 (22.21).
Keelin Becker was fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.54m.
On Friday, Moon broke the school record with a 57.70 in the 400. The 4x4 relay team of Moon,
Haley Brenny,
Carly Yanek and
Layla Robertson set a new school record with a time of 3:55.10.
Campbell was seventh in the 60 in a time of 6.91. Baloyi was fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.93 meters.
John Giansante was seventh in the triple jump, with a mark of 12.48 meters.
The teams will head to the Ashland University Last Chance Meet next Saturday.
