Seton Hill closed out the home portion of their pre Christmas schedule with a PSAC Crossover matchup with Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins jumped out to a 47-27 halftime lead and cruised to a 92-58 victory over the Bald Eagles. SHU is now 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC.
SHU used a 9-0 run to break a 5-5 tie early in the first half as they jumped out to a 14-5 lead with 16:14 left in the first half.
Edir Ortiz scored five of the nine points in the run. Lock Haven cut the lead back to four at 18-14 with 13:38 to play. A three pointer from
Camden Brewer pushed the lead back to ten at the midway point of the half. The Griffins then used an 18-0 run to push their advantage to 42-18 with just over three minutes to play in the half. SHU went on the 18-0 run over a five minute stretch.
Dimitrios Sklavenitis hit back to back three pointers in the run. The Griffins led 47-27 at the halftime break.
The Griffins shot 52% in the half while holding Lock Haven to just 40%.
Over the first three and a half minutes of the second half, the Griffins outscored the Eagles 17-0 to take a 64-27 lead. Lock Haven responded with an 11-0 run to cut the lead back to 64-38 with 13:22 to play. The Griffins were able to cruise to the victory the rest of the half.
Curtis led the Griffins with a double double of 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Rashaad Williams added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Ortiz,
Camden Brewer and
Gabe Gillespie each finished with 13 points. Ortiz had eight rebounds.
The Griffins will continue PSAC Crossover action this weekend at Mansfield and Bloomsburg.
