10/1/2025 4:01:00 PM

The Seton Hill University softball team has named Tessa Gage as their assistant coach, head coach Mandy Sansbury announced recently.

"First and foremost I'd like to thank Coach Sansbury for the opportunity to join her staff," said Gage.  "Her vision for this program is something I'm really excited to be a part of. From the moment I stepped on campus, I could feel how much this school truly cares about its students and softball program and it felt like the perfect fit. I look forward to getting to work immediately and contributing to SHU Softball's history of success!"

"We are extremely excited to welcome Tessa to the Seton Hill softball program," said coach Sansbury.  "She brings fresh ideas, great energy, and a wealth of enthusiasm that will immediately benefit our student-athletes. We believe Tessa will be a tremendous asset to our program, and we look forward to the impact she will make both on and off the field."

Before coming to Seton Hill, Gage spent one season as an assistant coach at Shenandoah University where she helped the Hornets earn a spot in the ODAC Tournament and have the best record in 10 seasons.  While at Shenandoah, Gage was the recruiting coordinator in addition to playing a key role in in-game adjustments, pitching coaching, and the planning and execution of defensive and offensive practices.  Prior to Shenandoah, Tessa spent one season as an assistant at Lake Erie College.  At Lake Erie, Gage was instrumental in student-athlete recruitment, securing commitments from elite players, including those recognized on the Alliance Fastpitch national watch list.

Prior to her tenure at Lake Erie College, Gage coached at Turnin 2 Softball 18u Smiegel and Walled Lake Western High School, where she focused on infield and outfield coaching, hitting instruction, and pitching development.

Gage was a five year student athlete at Rochester Christian University where she was a two year captain.

Gage has earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration in Sports Management and a Master of Education in Sport Leadership.
