The Griffin track and field teams took part in the Muskie Meet #2 on Saturday afternoon in Concord, Ohio at Muskingum University.
The teams combined for four new school records on the day. The men's team finished second with 86 points while the women finished third with 62.5 points.
The women's 4x2 relay of
Nemani Moon,
Artemis Conaboy,
Layla Robertson and
Koschinya Jefferson finished first in a time of 1:45.60. The time was a new school record along with being a meet and building record. The men's 4x2 relay team of
Jacy Willis,
Blaise Verrastro,
Andrew Campbell and
Devin Underwood placed first in a time of 1:29.80. They set a new school record and a meet record.
Angelo Allen set two new school records in both the shot put and weight throw. He was first in the shot put with a throw of 16.24m. It was also a meet record. Allen was third in the weight throw with a toss of 16.52 meters.
On the men's side,
John Giansante was first in the triple jump with a mark of 12.90m. Giansante was also eighth in the long jump with a leap of 6.32m.
Kaden Crump was first in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.66. Verrastro was a PSAC qualifier in the 400 with a second place finish in a time of 50.11. Willis was third in the event in a time of 50.96 and Underwood was sixth in a time of 51.32.
Andrew Campbell was second in the 60 yard dash in a time of 6.98.
Ben Kissell was third in the pole vault. He cleared 4.37 meters.
Malwandla Baloyi was fourth in the 60 hurdles in a time of 8.77.
Dwight Sarver was eighth in the shot put with a toss of 12.87m.
On the women's side,
Sarah Gilliam hit a PSAC Qualifier with a second place finish in the weight throw. She had a toss of 15.20m. Moon was second in the 400 with a PSAC Qualifier of 59.45.
Haley Brenny was third in the event with a time of 59.84. Conaboy was fourth in a time of 1:02.35.
Kate Pipilo also hit a PSAC Qualifier in the 800 with a time of 2:23.36.
Robertson was third in the 60 hurdles in a time of 9.94.
Jada Freeman was 4th in the 1000 in a time of 3:27.00.
Baine Snyder was sixth in the high jump (1.51m) and eighth in the pole vault (2.66m).
The Griffins will compete at the YSU Mid Major next weekend.
