Seton Hill traveled to Gannon on Saturday afternoon for the PSAC West opener for both programs.
The teams played to a 2-2 tie as the Griffins scored a goal in each of the two halves. SHU is now 4-1-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the west while Gannon is 4-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the west. Â
SHU took a 1-0 lead in the contest on a goal from
Tom Frank in the 16th minute.Â
Nils Heinrich assisted on the goal. SHU took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break. Gannon held a 5-3 advantage in shots in the half. Â
The Golden Knights scored a pair of goals over a four minute stretch to take a 2-1 lead over the Griffins in the second half. With just under 15 minutes to play in the second half, Heinrich scored a goal to tie the contest at two.Â
James Aubrey assisted on the game tying goal. Â
Heinrich scored a goal and added an assist and led SHU with two shots on goal.Â
Jonathan Leary made three saves in net for SHU. Â
SHU will host California (PA) on Wednesday afternoon in another PSAC West contest. Â
