SHU, Gannon Play to 2-2 Tie

Seton Hill traveled to Gannon on Saturday afternoon for the PSAC West opener for both programs.

The teams played to a 2-2 tie as the Griffins scored a goal in each of the two halves.  SHU is now 4-1-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the west while Gannon is 4-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the west.  

SHU took a 1-0 lead in the contest on a goal from Tom Frank in the 16th minute.  Nils Heinrich assisted on the goal.  SHU took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.  Gannon held a 5-3 advantage in shots in the half.  

The Golden Knights scored a pair of goals over a four minute stretch to take a 2-1 lead over the Griffins in the second half.  With just under 15 minutes to play in the second half, Heinrich scored a goal to tie the contest at two.  James Aubrey assisted on the game tying goal.  

Heinrich scored a goal and added an assist and led SHU with two shots on goal.  Jonathan Leary made three saves in net for SHU.  

SHU will host California (PA) on Wednesday afternoon in another PSAC West contest.
