Seton Hill hosted California (PA) in a PSAC West matchup on Wednesday afternoon at DSG Field in Greensburg.
The Griffins took a 2-1 halftime lead and was able to hold on for a 2-1 conference victory over the Vulcans. SHU is now 3-0-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the west.
Seton Hill took the lead in the 28th minute off a cross from
Samantha Hallo. Hallo's cross found
Jackie Massof who found the back of the net for the first goal of the game to put the Griffins in front 1-0. The Vulcans tied the game in the 41st minute. SHU responded just 1:16 later to retake the lead.
Morgan Walters shot snuck thru the goalkeeper and Hallo was at the back post and was able to tap in the goal into the empty net to put the Griffins in front 2-1.
SHU outshot the Vulcans 8-2 in the first half and had both of the two corner kicks.
The Griffins were very stout in the second half in keeping the Vulcans off the scoreboard. SHU held CalU to just one shot in the half.
Hallo had a goal and assist to lead the Griffins.
Sydney Caldwell made two saves in the win.
SHU will host Pitt Johnstown on Saturday afternoon in another PSAC West battle.
