After winning their fourth straight PSAC Western Division title, the Griffin women's lacrosse team earned honors from the PSAC on their All PSAC West Teams. The awards were released by the league on Wednesday afternoon and were nominated and voted on by the head coaches.
Highlighting the awards were redshirt junior
Skylar Orlowski who was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Year. Graduate student
Makayla Kintner was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year.
Five members of the team earned All PSAC West honors with three first team all conference selections and two second team selections. Orlowski was a first team selection at attack. Kintner picked up first team honors at defense. Joining Kintner on the first team defense was junior
Giavonna Spadafora. Sophomore
Mila Udovicic was a second team selection at attack and freshman
Allison Hathaway was a second team selection at goal keeper.
Kintner is now a four time All PSAC West selection and two time PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year. Orlowski is now a three time All PSAC West selection. Udovicic is a two time All PSAC West selection.
Orlowski leads the Griffins in all offensive categories. She has 66 goals and 34 assists for 100 points. Skylar is third in the PSAC in goals and points and fourth in assists. Orlowski has added 54 draw controls, 19 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers. Kintner leads the team with 76 draw controls, 45 ground balls and 44 caused turnovers. She has a goal and assist. Makayla is third in the PSAC in caused turnovers, seventh in ground balls and ninth in draw controls. Spadafora has 19 caused turnovers and 27 ground balls. She added an assist. Udovicic is second on the team with 58 points on 27 goals and 31 assists. She had 69 draw controls, 19 ground balls and 17 caused trunovers. Hathaway is 12-2 in goal with a 9.75 goals against average. She has recorded 117 saves.
