Track Team Get Final Preps for PSAC's at Red Flash Open

The Griffin track and field teams got their final preps in for next weekend's PSAC Championships at the St Francis Red Flash Open on Saturday afternoon.

The women's team finished with three first place finishes and added 21 top eight finishes.  The men's team had six first place finishes and 23 top eight finishes.  

Leading the way for the women's squad was Natasha Bernett who had three first place finishes.  She was first in the 100 hurdles (13.80), 400 hurdles (1:02.13) and javelin (41.37 meters).  

Koschinya Jefferson, Keelin Becker and Sarah Gilliam each had three top eight finishes.  Jefferson was third in the 200 (25.62), fourth in the shot put (11.77m) and fifth in the 100 hurdles (15.48).  Becker was fourth in the triple jump (10.87m), sixth in the 400 hurdles (1:07.33) and seventh in the 100 hurdles (15.65).  Gilliam was fourth in the hammer (43.16m), fifth in the shot put (11.27m) and sixth in the discus (32.16m).  

Layla Robertson had two top eight finishes.  She was fourth in the 400 hurdles (1:07.06) and eighth in the 100 hurdles (15.71).  Madelyn Fike was third in the 400 in a time of 59.17 seconds.  Carly Yanek was fourth in a time of 1:00.02 seconds.  Isabella Myles was sixth in the 1500 in a time of 5:00.54.  Tiffany Zelmore was fifth in the discus (33.97m).  Ayiana Martin was fifth in the 200 in a time of 26.43 seconds.  Marissa Manko was seventh in the 3K in a time of 12:11.87.  Martina Swalligan was seventh in the hammer with a throw of 35.68 meters.  

Angelo Allen and John Ginasante each had two first place finishes.  Allen was first in the shot put (15.27m) and hammer (51.22m).  Allen was also second in the discus (46.15m).  Giansante was first in the long jump (6.45m) and triple jump (13.80m).  Ben Kissell was first in the 400 hurdles in a time of 58.04 seconds.  He was also third in the pole vault (4.20m).  Jacy Willis was first in the 400 in a time of 48.67 seconds.  Willis was sixth in the 200 in a time of 22.53 seconds.  

Malwandla Baloyi and Blaise Verrastro each had two top eight finishes.  Verrastro was second in the 400 (48.94) and 200 (22.04).  Baloyi was fourth in the pole vault (3.90m) and sixth in the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.57 seconds.  

Andrew Campbell was second in the 100 in a time of 10.73 seconds.  Cody Scherle was second in the javelin (54.19m).  Ben Hartman was fourth in the 110 hurdles (15.31).  Ethan Barrick was fourth in the 3K in a time of 9:38.39.  Dwight Sarver was fourth in the discus (42.35m).  

Barry Ozimek was sixth in the long jump (5.43m).  Jaden Lopez was sixth in the hammer (45.07m).  Anthony Sacco was seventh in the 110 hurdles (15.89).  Dylan Brooks was seventh in the javelin (39.22m).  Kaden Crump was eighth in the 800 (2:00.22).

The teams will run in next week's PSAC Championships.
