Seton Hill senior starter Brandon Bergert was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Regional Pitcher of the Week, the NCBWA announced on Tuesday afternoon.  He is the third Griffin pitcher to earn the award in the past three seasons.  

Bergert was spectacular in his start against Grand Valley to earn the award.  

Bergert threw 8 scoreless innings in the Griffins 6-0 win over Grand Valley State.  He allowed just one hit, an infield single.  Brandon struck out 8 and walked just 1 on 93 pitches.  He did not allow a runner past second base in the outing. 

The Griffins will begin PSAC West play this weekend when they play a four game set with Mercyhurst.
