Seton Hill returned home for a PSAC West matchup with Edinboro on Saturday afternoon in the McKenna Center.
The Griffins came up just short, 71-68, in the PSAC West battle with the Fighting Scots. SHU drops to 13-13 overall and 10-10 in the PSAC while Edinboro improves to 15-10 overall and 13-7 in the PSAC.
Back to back baskets from
Christiane Frye gave the Griffins an early 4-0 lead in the contest. A three pointer from
Hallie Cowan and a
Sakeria Haralson basket extended the lead to 9-2 with 6:53 to play. Edinboro then went on a 11-0 run as they took a 13-9 lead with 2:53 left in the quarter. Edinboro led 14-11 at the end of the first quarter.
The Edinboro lead was between one and five points over the first four minutes of the second quarter. The Scots then used an 11-2 run to take a 35-25 lead with two minutes to play before the half. The Griffins hit four free throws over the final two minutes to cut the lead to 35-29 at the halftime break.

Abby Mankins trimmed the lead to 40-36 two minutes into the third quarter. SHU got to within one at 46-45 with 3:36 to play on two Haralson free throws. A late basket from
Mia Kalich cut the lead to 54-51 at the end of the third quarter.
Helene Cowan opened the fourth quarter by hitting two free throws to cut the lead to 54-53. Five straight points from
Helene Cowan gave SHU a 62-59 lead with 4:41 to play. Kalich gave SHU a 64-61 lead with 2:52 to play. Edinboro scored the next six points to take a 67-64 lead with 43 seconds left.
Hallie Cowan cut the lead to one with 32 seconds left. Edinboro went 4-4 from the line to close out the game.
Frye led the Griffins with 16 points.
Hallie Cowan added 14 points and
Helene Cowan tossed in 12. Mankins and Kalich each scored eight.
The Griffins will travel to Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday evening in an important PSAC West matchup.
