The Griffin track and field teams spent the weekend at the Ocean Breeze Complex on Staten Island this weekend for a pair of events.  The teams ran in the FastTrack National Invite on Friday and the Big Apple Invite on Saturday.  

On Friday both Natasha Bernett and Koschinya Jefferson had two top eight individual performances.  Bernett was third in the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters.  She was fourth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.92 seconds.  Jefferson was sixth in the long jump with a leap of 5.25 meters.  She was eighth in the 200 dash with a time of 25.67 seconds.  Bernett was also a part of the DMR that was second with a time of 12:29.81.  She was joined by Kate Pipilo, Jada Freeman and Isabella Myles.  

On the men's side on Friday, Malwandia Baloyi was seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.89 meters.  Andrew Campbel was eighth in the 60 dash with a time of 6.95 seconds.  The DMR team was fifth in a time of 10:38.52.  The DMR was Ethan Barrick, Blaise Verrastro, Andrew Smith and Kaden Crump.  

On Saturday in the Big Apple Invite, the women had five top eight finishes.  Bernett was second in the 60 hurdles in a time of 8.76 seconds.  Sarah Gilliam was third in the weight throw with a toss of 15.83 meters.  Pipilo was seventh in the mile in a time of 5:16.91.  Jefferson was eighth in the 400 dash with a time 1:00.03.  Myles was eighth in the 3K with a time of 10:21.65.  

Campbell was second in the 60 hurdles with a time of 6.93 seconds.  Jacy Willis was sixth in the 400 dash in a time of 50.14 seconds.  

The team will run in the PSAC Championships this upcoming weekend.
