Seton Hill began PSAC Tournament action on Tuesday evening in the PSAC Quarterfinal in Erie. The Griffins took on the top seed from the west Gannon in the matchup.
Gannon eliminated the Griffins from the PSAC Tournament with a sweep of the Griffins. SHU is now 19-9 while Gannon improves to 22-6.
Gannon took an early 9-6 lead in the first set but the Griffins responded with a 4-0 run on two kills and a block from
Catie Flohr and an
Abby Oesterling ace. The Golden Knights answered with a 5-0 run and never trailed again in the set as they took a 1-0 lead with a 25-17 first set win.
A pair of
Elizabeth Kolkowski kills gave SHU a quick 3-0 lead in the second set. Two kills from
Maddie Stout pushed the lead to 6-3. Gannon used a 7-1 run in the middle portions of the set as they built a lead and would not relinquish it. Gannon built a 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-17 second set win.
The Golden Knights took a 10-5 lead in the third set. SHU answered with a 3-0 run to trim the lead to 10-8 on kills from Kolkowski and Flohr. The Griffins would not get any closer than four points the rest of the set as Gannon completed the sweep with a 25-20 third set win.
Flohr led the Griffins with a match high 16 kills.
Abby Oesterling finished with 25 assists.
Kendyl Wagner had 14 digs and Stout added 12.
