The Seton Hill women's soccer team made the short trip to CalU on Wednesday evening for a PSAC West contest.
The Griffins scored on a penalty kick late in the second half for a 1-0 win over the Vulcans. SHU is now 5-4-4 overall and 3-4-3 in the west.
Neither team was able to crack the scoreboard in the first half of action. The Vulcans outshot the Griffins 4-3 in the half. Â
Late in the second half,
Samantha Hallo got behind the Vulcan defense and was taken down in the penalty box which awarded the Griffins with a penalty kick.
Corynna Rotoli converted the PK to give SHU a 1-0 lead with just over 17 minutes to play. SHU was able to close out the half and keep the Vulcans off the scoreboard. Â
Sydney Caldwell made three saves in the shutout win. Rotoli had two shots on goal to lead SHU. Â
The Griffins will travel to Clarion next Wednesday for another PSAC West contest.Â
