Men's Basketball Earns PSAC West Road Win at Edinboro

Box Score Seton Hill began a tough stretch of games as they close out the first half of the PSAC West schedule with three games in five days.  The Griffins began the stretch with a road game at Edinboro on Saturday afternoon. 
 
The Griffins led for a majority of the contest as they defeated the Fighting Scots by the score of 74-63.  SHU is now 11-7 overall and 6-6 in the PSAC.

Edinboro built an early 11-4 lead over the Griffins just over five minutes into the half.  SHU answered back with a 11-2 run as they took a 15-13 lead with 12 minutes remaining in the half.  Sean Dillon scored four in the run while Jimmy Moon hit a three and Kedrick Curtis had a three point play. 
 
Over a three and a half minute stretch, the Griffins went on a 13-2 run as they built a 36-23 lead with 4:10 to play in the half.  Dillon had five points and Brian Belade scored four in the run.  Edinboro then scored the final five points of the half as they kept the Griffins off the scoreboard for the final 4:10 to cut the lead to 36-28 at the halftime break. 
 
Dimitrios Sklavenitis opened the second half scoring with a three pointer as SHU took a double digit lead.  Five straight from the Scots cut the lead to 42-35 with 15:28 to play.  Two Drew Green jumpers and a Ryan Meis three pointer extended the Griffins lead to 53-40 midway through the half. 
 
Meis continued his hot scoring as he scored seven points over a four minute stretch to put the Griffins in front 62-47 with 5:39 to play.  The Griffins were able to close out the game at the free throw line as they went 10-12 over the final four minutes of the contest. 
 
Meis led the Griffins with 14 points.  Dillon added 13 points.  Curtis also reached double figures with 10 points.  Caleb Whitaker and Green each added nine points. 
 
Seton Hill will host Pitt Johnstown for another PSAC West contest on Monday evening.
