The volleyball team headed to Canton, OH for the Hall of Fame City Classic hosted by Malone and Walsh this weekend.
The Griffins played two matches on Friday at Malone. One against Frostburg State and the second match against the host Pioneers.
SHU won the second and third sets against Frostburg State but fell in five then won the first two sets against Malone before falling in five. SHU falls to 1-5 on the season.
Seton Hill dropped a tight first set to Frostburg State 26-24. SHU responded with 25-19 and 25-17 set wins to take a 2-1 lead. The Bobcats then took the final two sets by the scores of 28-26 and 16-14 to win the match.
Paige Cole led the Griffins with a career high 28 kills.
Devyn Sokol added nine kills.
Abby Oesterling finished with 30 assists, seven digs and four aces. Cole led SHU with 20 digs while
Maddie Stout finished with 15.
The Griffins opened the Malone match by taking the first set 25-23. They took a 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-20 second set win. The Pioneers forced a fifth set with a 25-20 and 25-23 set win in the third and fourth sets. Malone won the match with a 16-14 fifth set.
Cole again led the Griffins with a match high 25 kills.
Catie Flohr finished with 12 kills. Oesterling added 37 assists, nine digs and four aces.
Kendyl Wagner led SHU with 18 digs. Cole added 17.
The Griffins close out the HOF City Classic at Walsh on Saturday with matches against Walsh and Fairmont State.
