Seton Hill continued PSAC West play on Wednesday evening as they battled Clarion under the lights at Memorial Stadium.
Clarion scored a pair of early goals in the second half to defeat the Griffins by a 2-1 score. Clarion improves to 2-5-2 overall and 2-4-1 in the west while the Griffins drop to 2-4-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the west.
Neither team was able to crack the scoreboard in the first half. Clarion outshot the Griffins by a 5-4 margin in the first half. The Golden Eagles had three corner kicks to one for the Griffins.
Clarion jumped on the Griffins with a pair of goals in the first eight minutes of the second half to take a 2-0 lead over the Griffins. Seton Hill cut the lead in half with 24 minutes to play.
Victoria Rothrauff moved down the right side of the box with the Clarion keeper deflecting a shot that bounced right to
Corynna Rotoli who shot into an empty net to trim the lead to one.
SHU had two more great chances in the last few minutes of the contest but the Golden Eagles keeper made two key saves to earn the win.
Kilee Coatney led SHU with two shots on goal.
The Griffins return to PSAC West action on Saturday when they travel to Gannon.
