Griffins Open PSAC West Play with Victory

Seton Hill began PSAC West play on Tuesday afternoon with a road contest at Pitt Johnstown.

The Griffins scored a pair of goals in each half for a 4-1 victory over the Mountain Cats.  The win is the second in a row for the Griffins.

It did not take the Griffins long to get on the scoreboard as Vasilis Christodoulou scored just 2:31 into the contest as the Griffins took a 1-0 lead.  Late in the half, with twelve minutes remaining, Brice Gandhi scored his first goal of the game to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead.  With less than three minutes to play in the half, the Mountain Cats got on the scoreboard to cut the SHU lead to 2-1.

SHU was outshot by UPJ 10-7 in the first half.  Aidan Hollander made four saves in the first half.

Midway through the second half, Julian Marker extended the Griffins lead to 3-1.  Gandhi and James Aubrey assisted on the goal.  With just over ten minutes to play in the contest, Gandhi scored his second goal of the game to give SHU a 4-1 lead.

The Griffins outshot the Cats 11-9 in the second half.

Gandhi led the Griffins with two goals and an assist.  Hollander recorded seven saves in net in the win.
