Seton Hill began PSAC West play on Tuesday afternoon with a road contest at Pitt Johnstown.
The Griffins scored a pair of goals in each half for a 4-1 victory over the Mountain Cats. The win is the second in a row for the Griffins. Â
It did not take the Griffins long to get on the scoreboard as
Vasilis Christodoulou scored just 2:31 into the contest as the Griffins took a 1-0 lead. Late in the half, with twelve minutes remaining,
Brice Gandhi scored his first goal of the game to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead. With less than three minutes to play in the half, the Mountain Cats got on the scoreboard to cut the SHU lead to 2-1. Â
SHU was outshot by UPJ 10-7 in the first half.Â
Aidan Hollander made four saves in the first half. Â
Midway through the second half,
Julian Marker extended the Griffins lead to 3-1. Gandhi and
James Aubrey assisted on the goal. With just over ten minutes to play in the contest, Gandhi scored his second goal of the game to give SHU a 4-1 lead. Â
The Griffins outshot the Cats 11-9 in the second half.
Gandhi led the Griffins with two goals and an assist. Hollander recorded seven saves in net in the win.
SHU will continue PSAC West play on Saturday afternoon when they host Mercyhurst. Â
