Box Score The Griffin women's tennis team began their season on the road at California (PA) on Saturday morning.

SHU won two of the three doubles matches and then won four of the six singles matches for a 5-2 win over the Vulcans.  

The first doubles team of Carissa Shepard and Kasey Storkel won their doubles match 6-0 as well as SHU's third doubles team, Sophia Solomon and Kaylee Kanuka, who won their match 7-5, giving SHU the 1-0 lead going into singles.  SHU's second doubles team Maria Pereda and Kendall McCluskey lost their match 6-3.

Going into singles, Kendall McCluskey won her match 6-0, 6-3, as well as Sophia Solomon 6-4, 6-1, Maria Pereda 6-3, 6-2, and Kaylee Kanuka winning her match 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.   Carissa Shepard lost at first singles 6-2, 6-2, as well as Kasey Storkel was defeated at 3rd singles, 3-6, 6-4, 11-9.

The Griffins will host Bloomsburg on September 30th at Latrobe High School.
