The Griffin volleyball team traveled to Buckhannon, WV for the WV Wesleyan Tournament this weekend. The Griffins played Lock Haven in the first game of the day and then played Glenville State in their second game.
SHU defeated Lock Haven in four sets and then swept Glenville State to go 2-0 on the day in the tourney. SHU is now 4-6 on the season.
Seton Hill dropped the first set to Lock Haven 25-14. SHU responded with three straight set wins. They took the second set, 25-15. The Griffins closed out the match with a 25-13 and 25-12 third and fourth set wins.
Paige Cole led the Griffins with 18 kills.
Elizabeth Kolkowski and
Catie Flohr each finished with eight kills while
Kaitlyn Lipps added seven.
Abby Oesterling paced the offense with 37 assists. Flohr led SHU with three blocks. Cole also led the Griffins with 10 digs.
Maddie Stout added nine.
SHU finished the first set against Glenville State with a 25-15 win. They took a 2-0 lead with a 25-21 second set win. The Griffins closed out the match with a 25-15 third set win.
Cole led SHU with 12 kills. Lipps finished with six kills.
Payton Rodberg and Flohr each added five kills. Oesterling paced the offense with 17 assists.
Kate Eden added seven.
Kendyl Wagner and Stout each had seven digs to lead the Griffins.
SHU will continue play in Buckhannon on Saturday when they play Central State and WV Wesleyan.
