For the third straight year, over 60% of Seton Hill student athletes were honored as PSAC Scholar Athletes as 278 Griffins earned the award, the league office announced on Wednesday.  Any student athlete from a sport with a PSAC Championship with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above is named to the list.  Mercyhurst led the league with 311 student athletes named to the list while the Gannon was second with 303.  The Griffins followed in third with 278.  62.3% of Seton Hill student athletes were named to the list. 

One hundred fourty nine SHU female athletes made the list, led by 33 members of the soccer program.  26 members of the cross country.track and field programs also earned the honor.  Lacrosse finished with 22 while softball added 19.  Volleyball and basketball each finished with 17.  Tennis added nine while golf added six.  

One hundred twenty nine male athletes earned the honor led by 31 members of the soccer team.  Football was next with 30 athletes, followed by baseball with 26.  Track and Field/Cross Country finished with 25.  Wrestling added nine while basketball finished with eight.

Last season, Seton Hill had 360 student athletes (61% of student athletes) earn the PSAC Scholar Athlete Award.  

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has announced that 3,795 student-athletes from the league's 18 institutions were named to the list during the 2022-23 academic year.
