The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its Spring Academic All District Teams on the past couple of weeks and Seton Hill University had thirty one student athletes earn the honor.
With the honor, all thirty one are eligible for consideration on the CSC Academic All-America Teams that will be announced throughout the month of June. The CSC Academic All-America program replaces the former CoSIDA Academic All-America program after CoSIDA recently rebranded the organization as College Sports Communicators.
Four tennis players earned the honor including junior
Julianna Begley, sophomore
Hannah Brown, senior
Erin Schulte and junior
Kasey Storkel. The softball team had five players earn Academic All District honors. Juniors
Mackenzie Zang,
Nina Grandey and
Lauren Dellett along with sophomores
Brooke Cleland and
Grace Paredes made the team. The baseball team also had five players earn the honor including senior
Noah Sweeney, junior
Brandon Bergert and sophomores
Max Mandler,
Blake Barker and
Ian Korn. Â
The Griffin track and field programs had seven student athletes pick up the honor. Graduate student
Alexis Cunningham, seniors
Isabelle McCabe,
Darby Roth and
Alyson Taylor along with sophomore
Haley Brenny earned the award. Junior
Ben Hartman and sophomore
Gabriel McConville also earned the award on the men's side.
The At Large program features golf, lacrosse and wrestling programs. Junior
Riley O'Mara picked up the award for the wrestling program. Four men's lacrosse players also earned the At Large Academic All District honor. Senior
Caleb Voorhees, junior
Blake Morrow and sophomores
Justin Dian and
Colin Socker all picked up the honor. On the women's side, sophomore golfer
Lauren Barber earned the honor. Four women's lacrosse players also earned the honor. Senior
Makayla Kintner along with sophomores
Megan Bunker,
Kara Gosnell and
Olivia McMahon earned the honor. Â
To qualify for the academic all-district honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and in athletic eligibility, must maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA or higher and must have played at least 50 percent of the team's games. Additionally, each institution is capped at a certain number of nominees in each of the Academic All District categories.
