The Griffin softball team is set to make their sixth straight and seventh overall appearance in the PSAC Softball Tournament in their tenth season of play in the league. Seton Hill earned the top seed in the west and will open tournament play on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 PM against the winner of the first game of the day between fourth seed from the east Shippensburg and fifth seed from the west Gannon. The tournament is being played at Veterans Park in Quakertown, PA.
In the first two games of the day, Gannon and Ship will meet and 4W California will take on 5E Bloomsburg at 10 AM. The 12:30 PM games feature the 2-3 matchups. 2E East Stroudsburg will play 3W Slippery Rock and 3E Kutztown will take on 2W Mercyhurts. 1E West Chester will meet the winner of the California game while 1W SHU will meet the winner of the Gannon contest at 3 PM. With a win on day one, the Griffins will take on the winner of the East Stroudsburg/Slippery Rock game at 10 AM on Thursday. A loss in the opening game will send the Griffins into an elimination game at 5:30 PM on Wednesday against the loser of the Cal/Bloom matchup. The tournament will continue on Friday and Saturday with the winner of the tournament earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Griffins did not play any of the teams from the East this season. Against the teams from the west, SHU went 2-2 vs CalU, 4-0 vs Mercyhurst, 3-1 vs Gannon and 1-3 vs Slippery Rock.
Lauren Dellett leads the Griffins at the plate with a .361 batting average. She has scored 17 runs while adding five doubles, three homers and 17 RBI. Dellett is one of eight Griffins hitting above .300 on the season.
Mackenzie Zang is second on the team with a .355 average. She is also second on the team with 43 hits and 11 stolen bases. Zang has a double, triple and 2 home runs while driving in 21.
Bre Athey is hitting .344 on the season. Athey leads SHU with three triples. She also has four doubles, two homers and 12 RBI.
Kylie Hegland is hitting .338 for SHU in her freshman season. She had added four doubles, a triple and 13 RBI.
Brooke Cleland is hitting .324 with six doubles, five homers and 23 RBI.
Nina Grandey leads the Griffins with 47 hits, 32 runs scored and 23 stolen bases. Grandey hit .318 and has seven doubles, a triple, homer and 11 RBI. Freshman
Camryn Murphy leads the Griffins with ten doubles and is tied for the team lead with nine homers. Murphy hit .308 on the season with 27 RBI.
Grace Paredes led SHU with 37 RBI and tied for the team lead with nine homers. Grace hit .305 with seven doubles.
Dellett also leads the Griffin pitching staff. Lauren finished the regular season with an 18-6 record with two saves and a 1.52 ERA. She had pitched complete games in 21 of her 22 starts. Dellett has pitched 165.1 innings and allowed just 36 earned runs on 136 hits. Lauren has struck out 138 hitters with just 37 walks. Opponents hit just .220 of off her.
Chloe Elliott was 9-8 on the season with a 3.18 ERA. She pitched 110.1 innings and struck out 71.
Harlowe Nigh went 2-1 on the season with a 3.30 ERA.

Ticket prices for the event are $15 per day on day one and two with the price moving to $10 on day three and four with children under 12 and students from all PSAC institutions admitted free with an ID.
