Griffin Season Ends in PSAC First Round at Edinboro

The Griffins opened the PSAC Tournament with a road contest at third seed Edinboro on Monday evening.   
 
SHU got off to a quick start but Edinboro rebounded and eliminated the Griffins from the PSAC Tournament with a 79-61 loss.  SHU ends the season with an 18-14 record. 
 
Seton Hill got off to a quick start as they built an 8-2 lead less than two minutes into the first quarter.  Christiane Frye opened with a driving layup before back to back threes from Alie Seto and Hallie Cowan.  Edinboro got back to within one but Hallie Cowan hit another three and Sakeria Haralson added a layup to give SHU a 13-7 lead with 5:35 to play.  Seto hit a three with 2:19 to play that put the Griffins in front 20-14.  Edinboro scored the final six points of the quarter to tie the score at 20.   
 
Edinboro opened the second quarter on a 10-7 run as they built a 30-27 lead midway through.  Another Seto three tied the score at 30 with 4:45 to play.  Christiane Frye scored the final seven points of the half for the Griffins but they trailed 41-37 at the break. 
 
The Scots opened the second half on a 10-0 run as they built a 51-37 lead with 5:23 to play in the quarter.  SHU answered back with back to back threes from Frye and Courtney Tomas to cut the lead to 51-43 with 4:23 left.  The Griffins trailed Edinboro 59-49 at the end of the third quarter. 
 
Edinboro opened the fourth quarter on 5-0 run as they built their lead to 64-49.  The Scots were able to hold their lead the remainder of the half in route to the playoff win.
 
Frye led the Griffins with 21 points.  Seto added 16 points.  Haralson pulled down 11 rebounds.
