Track Sets Two New School Records in Season Opening Meet

The Griffin track and field teams opened their indoor season this weekend at the Mountain Hawk Opener at Lehigh University's Rauch Fieldhouse.  

The weekend was highlighted by two new school records on the men's side.  Sophomore Angelo Allen set a new school record in the shot put.  His mark of 16.16 meters was good for a first place finish.  He also was third in the weight throw with a toss of 14.78 meters.  Senior Andrew Campbell set a new school record in the 60 meter dash.  He was first with a time of 6.89 seconds.  

Seton Hill also got a first place finish on the women's side from Natasha Bernett.  Bernett was first in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.20.  She was also second in the long jump with a leap of 5.35 meters.  

Both Jameson Kutz and John Giansante had two top five finishes.  Kutz was second in the long jump (6.65m) and fourth in the triple jump (13.04m).  Giansante was third in the long jump (6.54m) and third in the triple jump (13.04m).  Baine Snyder finished with two top eight finishes.  She was sixth in the pole vault (2.75m) and eighth in the high jump (1.42m).  

Ben Kissel finished second in the pole vault, clearing 4.25 meters.  Devin Underwood was second in the 400 in a time of 50.78 meters.  Joseph Piper was fourth in the 60 with a time of 7.03 seconds.  Ben Hartman was fifth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.68.  Tony Sacco was seventh with a time of 9.12.  

Koschinya Jefferson was fourth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.48.  Layla Robertson was fifth with a time of 9.59 and Keelin Becker was seventh in a time of 9.79.  Haley Brenny was third in the 400 with a time of 1:03.95.  Carly Yanek was fourth with a time of 1:04.45.  

The Griffins will be off until January 13th when they will compete in the Muskingum Meet #1.
