Seton Hill closed out the season with a home matchup with Indiana (PA) on Saturday afternoon in the McKenna Center.
The Griffins won the opening set then took sets three and four for a 3-1 victory over the Crimson Hawks. SHU ends the season with a 13-16 overall record and a 6-10 mark in PSAC West play.
SHU rallied from 22-16 down in the first set to win a thrilling 31-29 first set.
Kate Eden keyed a 5-0 run with her serving to trim the lead to 22-21. Three straight kills from
Kaylee Mattera,
Mara Yahner and
Kaitlyn Lipps gave SHU a 25-24 lead. Kills from
Catie Flohr and
Paige Cole broke a 29-29 tie and gave SHU the 31-29 win.
IUP led throughout the second set and tied the match at one with a 25-20 set win.
The Griffins took an early lead in the third set with a 4-0 run as they took an 8-4 lead. Another 4-0 run on three straight aces from Eden pushed the lead to 17-9. Flohr ended the set with a kill and SHU took a 2-1 lead with a 25-15 third set win.
Two 4-0 runs early in the fourth set put the Griffins in front 12-5. SHU built their lead to 22-11 before settling for a 25-21 fourth set win after a block from Yahner and
Abby Oesterling.
Flohr led SHU with a match high 19 kills. She also added 3 blocks and 3 digs. Cole also reached double figures with 10 kills and 10 digs. Mattera added eight kills. Oesterling had 28 assists and nine digs. Eden added 14 assists and four aces.
Kendyl Wagner had a match high 21 digs.
Maddie Stout finished with 15 digs.
