The Griffin tennis team played a pair of matches at the Latrobe High School Courts this past weekend. Seton Hill hosted Bloomsburg on Saturday and then Pitt Greensburg on Sunday.
Seton Hill split the pair of matches, falling 6-1 to Bloomsburg and defeating Pitt Greensburg by an identical 6-1 score.
In the Bloomsburg match, the Griffins got a singles win from
Carissa Shepard (6-3, 6-4). The doubles team of
Kaylee Kanuka and
Sophia Solomon won their doubles match by a 6-4 score.
Seton Hill earned the one doubles point in the win over Pitt Greensburg. SHU got doubles wins from Shepard/
Kasey Storkel (6-4) and
Maria Pereda/
Kendall McCluskey (6-2). The Griffins then won five of the six doubles matches. Shepard won 6-0, 6-2. Pereda picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win. Storkel won a hard fought match by the score of 7-6, 5-7, 10-5. Kanuka won 6-0, 6-0. Solomon won 6-2, 7-6.
The Griffins will play in the PSAC Singles and Doubles Championships next weekend at Bloomsburg.
