Seton Hill closed out the home portion of their schedule on Saturday with a PSAC Dual match with #7 Pitt Johnstown on Senior Day. The Griffins honored seniors
Joel Cawoski and
Dominic Williams before the match.
UPJ won seven of the ten matches to defeat the Griffins by a 32-9 score. SHU is now 4-8 on the season and 0-4 in PSAC Duals.
The Mountain Cats took a 3-0 lead in the match with a decision win at 125 pounds. SHU tied the match at three at 133 pounds after a solid 6-0 decision victory from
William Burgess.
Pitt Johnstown then won the next four matches, all bonus point wins, as they took a 22-3 lead after six matches.
The Griffins then got a decision win at 174 pounds from
Brandon Matthews. Matthews won by a 6-3 score. Seton Hill got a huge win in the heavyweight match as
John Meyers defeated the fifth ranked wrestler in the country by a 7-4 score.
Seton Hill will travel to Mercyhurst next Friday night for another PSAC Dual Match.
