The Griffin track and field teams traveled to Geneva, OH and the SPIRE Institute for the SPIRE Midwest Open on Saturday.
The teams featured 19 top eight finishes including nine top three finishes. The women's team had 13 top eights and six top threes. The men's team had six top eights and three top threes.
The women's 4x4 relay team of
Haley Brenny,
Alyson Taylor,
Layla Robertson and
Anna Roberts finished first in a time of 4:10.90.
Darby Roth was first in the 800 meter run. She finished in a time of 2:18.07. Roth was also second in the mile with a time of 5:08.47.
Alexis Cunningham was third in both the 3K and mile. She ran the 3K in 10:40.01 and mile in 5:09.76.
Taylor had two more sixth place finishes in the 60 hurdles and 400. She ran 9.48 in the 60 hurdles and 1:01.93 in the 400. Robertson was seventh in the 400 with a time of 1:01.94.
Isabella Myles was fourth in the 5K (18:33.07) and
Isabelle McCabe was sixth in the 3K (10:56.41).
Blair Harris was fifth in the shot put with a toss of 11.51 meters. She was also sixth in the weight throw (13.80m).
Sarah Gilliam placed third in the weight throw with a toss of 14.71 meters.
Hunter Martin had three top eight finishes. He was second in the 60 hurdles in a time of 8.33. Hunter finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 13.15 meters. He was also a part of the 4x4 relay with
Zakharee Williams,
Gabriel McConville and
Andrew Smith. They placed sixth in a time of 3:35.72.
McConville was second in the 5K with a time of 15:09.08.
John Giansante placed fourth in the triple jump, with a jump of 13.00 meters.
Angelo Allen was eighth in the shot put with a toss of 13.56 meters.
The teams will head to the Youngstown State College Mid Major next weekend.
