1/18/2023 2:38:00 PM

Seton Hill track/cross country coach Jamal Johnson has named Josh Sanderlin as his assistant coach for both the track and field and cross country programs.

Sanderlin was previously an assistant coach at Alaska Fairbanks.

"I'm very excited to have Josh on our staff," said coach Johnson.  "I've had an opportunity to observe Josh from afar in a professional setting over the past 6 weeks and I've been extremely impressed. He's a young, bright, eager coach who's had success in Cross Country at Alaksa-Fairbanks the past 2 years. I have every belief that he will replicate those same results during his time here."

At Alaska Fairbanks, Sanderlin coached six All GNAC Athletes, six All West Region runners, one GNAC Champion, one West Region Champion and one All American.

Sanderlin stated, "I am incredibly excited to take on this opportunity to help coach the distance squads at Seton Hill. There is a clear route to success with both teams that I saw while I was interviewing for the position and checking out the campus, and I feel ready to put the work in to achieve that success. It feels great to be back in my home state of Pennsylvania after being in Alaska for two years."

Sanderlin earned his undergrad from Bethany College in Coaching Education.   At Bethany, he competed in Cross Country and Track and Field.

He has a level 1 and 2 coaching certification from the USATF.  His level two certification is in distance training.
