Seton Hill returned to the mats for the first time in 2023 with a PSAC Dual match at Shippensburg on Wednesday evening.
Each team won five matches but the Raiders were able to get one more team point in a 25-24 victory over the Griffins. SHU drops to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in PSAC Duals while the Raiders improve to 6-4 overall and 1-1 in PSAC Duals.
The Griffins took an early 12-0 lead in the match after two matches.
Kyle Burkholder picked up a win by forfeit in the first match at 125 pounds.
William Burgess then won his match at 133 pounds by injury default. Shippensburg then won the next three matches as they took a 13-12 lead in the match.
Kane Kettering got the Griffins back in the win column with a 2-1 decision at 165 pounds. Kettering's winning point was a riding time point.
Brandon Matthews followed with a 5-0 decision win at 174 pounds as the Griffins took an 18-12 lead.
Riley O'Mara got a win by fall early in the second period of the 184 pound match to extend the Griffins lead to 24-13.
The Raiders then got two wins by fall to pvercome the Griffins in the 25-24 win.
Seton Hill will take part in the Mount Union Purple Raider Open on Sunday.
