The Griffin cross country teams competed in a packed field at the Lock Haven University Open on Saturday morning in Lock Haven, PA.  

The women's team placed third in the Crimson 6K race.  The Griffins were only behind Division I Cornell and Division II power Wayne State.  

Leading the way for the Griffins was sophomore Hannah Smrcka who placed fourth overall in a time of 21:34.70.  Isabella Myles was 12th overall in a time of 21:56.40.  Both Smrcka and Myles times were top ten 6K times in school history.  

Darby Roth was next for the Griffins in 19th place (22:11.00).  Alexis Cunningham was 40th with a time of 22:40.00.  Rounding out the top five for the Griffin women was Isabelle McCabe in 54th place (22:58.00).

The men's team was 22nd overall in the Crimson 8K race.  

Pacing the day for the Griffins was Gabriel McConville who was 41st.  He ran a time of 25:43.40.  His time was a top five 8K time in school history.

The Griffins will take a week off before the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on October 8th.
