Jenna Osikowicz Named to CoSIDA Academic All America Division II Softball Team

To cap off a spectacular season where she was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Year, graduate student Jenna Osikowicz picked up another award, this one for her work on the diamond and in the classroom as she earned Academic All America honors on Tuesday afternoon.  Osikowicz was named to the CoSIDA Academic All American Division II Softball Team as a third team selection.  It was her first selection as an Academic All American. 

Osikowicz becomes the second softball player to earn the award joining Christine Henderson.  She joins track and field athletes, Samuel Hartman, Mallory Sanner, Kaitlyn Germanoski, Aron Kurzinski, Josh Wilks and Erin Beattie, baseball player Tommy Pellis, men's basketball players Noah and Nathan Davis, football players Zach Delo, Logan Wiland and Tyler Zimmer, lacrosse player Anthony DeSana, women's basketball player Tiara Stossel, volleyball athlete Viktoria Farian, wrestler Damon Greenwald and men's soccer player Joe Smith as Griffin athletes to be named Academic All Americans.

A 3.90 MBA student who graduated with a Business Administration degree led the Griffins to their first ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Softball Championships following an Atlantic Super Regional sweep of Kutztown.  

This season, Osikowicz was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Year for the second straight season.  She earned All American honors from both the NCFA and D2CCA.  Jenna was the first Seton Hill player to earn All American honors from the NFCA.  Osikowicz was a NFCA and D2CCA Atlantic Region first team selection in addition to being a first team All PSAC West selection.  

Osikowicz led the Griffins in many offensive categories.  Jenna led the Griffins in batting average with a .449 average.  She also led the team with 79 hits, 53 runs, 21 stolen bases and nine triples.  Jenna added 13 doubles, three homers and 33 RBI.
