After an outstanding junior season,
Sydney Wolf collected another accolade when she was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team.
After earning this honor, Wolf is now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All American Teams, which will be announced in June.
The 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
Wolf made Seton Hill history in the fall when she became the first Griffin to earn a PSAC Individual Cross Country title with her first place finish at the 2021 PSAC Cross Country Championships. She also helped the Griffins to their third trip to the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships with a fourth place finish at the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
Once the seasons turned to track, Wolf continued to excel. She was the PSAC runner-up in the 800 at the conference Indoor Championships. At the 2022 PSAC Outdoor Championships, she was the runner-up in the 1500 and also took fifth in the 800.
This is the second significant academic award Wolf has earned this year. A psychology major with a 3.90 GPA, Wolf was a PSAC Fall Top 10 Award winner, becoming only the ninth SHU student-athlete to earn that distinction. The Top 10 Awards, selected by the PSAC's sports information directors, recognize student-athletes who distinguish themselves in the classroom, as well as in the arena of competition.
To qualify for the CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.30 GPA or higher and must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution. Nominees must also be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.
