The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced it's postseason awards on Friday afternoon. The awards are voted on by the league's head coaches.
Three members of the Griffin team were honored on the All PSAC West teams.
Senior
Nash Bryan was named to the first team as a relief pitcher. Junior
Jack Oberdorf earned second team honors as a third baseman. Graduate student outfielder
Neal McDermott was a second team selection as an outfielder. It is the first all conference honor for all three Griffins.
Bryan led the Griffins and the PSAC with 11 saves. He was 3-4 on the season with a 2.43 ERA. Nash struck out 48 and walked just seven in 29.2 innings. Oberdorf led the Griffins in nearly every offensive category. He hit .356 on the season with 58 hits and 38 runs scored. Jack paced the Griffins with ten home runs and 38 RBIs. He also added seven doubles, two triples and four stolen bases. McDermott was spectacular in the outfield making many highlight real catches. He hit .308 at the plate with eight doubles. two homers and 21 RBIs. Neal added 14 stolen bases.
Mercyhurst's Josh Surowiec was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Year. Gannon's Eric Sapp picked up the league's top pitcher award. Slippery Rock's Ethan Edkins was named the league's Freshman of the Year while the Rock's Jeff Messer picked up the league's Coach of the Year Award.
