The Griffin track and field teams continued their weekend of competition at the Ed Fry Invitational in Indiana, PA while having one competitor at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational in Miami, Florida.
At IUP in the Ed Fry Invitational, the Griffin teams combined for 27 top eight finishes, 13 top three finishes and three first place finishes.
Samuel Hartman won the 400 hurdles in the Hurricane Alumni Invitational in a time of 52.20.
Joseph Piper and
Zane Baughman had the first places for the men and
Keelin Becker had the first place finish for the women. Piper was first in the 200 in a time of 22.12 while Baughman was first in the shot put with a throw of 13.57 meters. Becker won the triple jump with a leap of 10.51 meters. Piper was also second in the 100 in a time of 10.94. Becker added an eighth place finish in the long jump. She had a leap of 4.52 meters.
Andrew Campbell paced the men's team with three top eight finishes. He was second in the long jump with a leap of 6.24 meters. He was sixth in the 100 in a time of 11.16 and eighth in the triple jump with a jump of 12.54 meters.
Many on the men's team had two top eight finishes. They included
Jameson Kutz,
Ben Hartman,
Ben Kissel,
Barry Ozimek and
Zakharee Williams. Kutz was third in the long jump with a leap of 6.13 meters and seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 12.98 meters. Hartman was second in the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.63 and fifth in the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:01.39. Kissel was fifth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 17.23 and sixth in th javelin with a toss of 38.98 meters. Ozimek placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 41.27 meters and eighth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 18.77. Williams was third in both the 200 and 400. His time in the 200 was 22.37 while his time in the 400 was 50.66.
Hunter Martin was second in the triple jump (13.53 meters) while
John Giansante was fifth (13.11 meters).
Andrew Smith placed third in the 800 in a time of 2:01.00 and
Kyle Thomas was fifth in the 1500 with a time of 4:46.07.
Brooke Geyer was second in the 5K with a time of 21:09.46. The Griffins went 3-4 in the pole vault.
Lauren Ritenour was third, clearing 3.05 meters while
Teresa Kondas finished fourth. Abby Oesterling was seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.40 meters.
The teams will compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic next weekend at Bucknell while the multi's will compete at the Mondschein Multi's at Kutztown.
