Win Streak Reaches Eight After Win Over Lock Haven

Seton Hill continued PSAC West play on Wednesday afternoon as they hosted Lock Haven at DSG Field in Greensburg.

The Griffins dominated possession during the contest as they won 25 of the 28 draws in the contest which led to a convincing 16-8 win over the Bald Eagles.  The win was the eighth in a row for the Griffins as they improved to 12-3 overall and 8-2 in PSAC West play.

SHU took a little time to get the offense going in the early portion of the contest as Lock Haven scored the first two goals of the game and led 2-0 with 8:38 remaining in the first quarter.  The Griffins then began to take control of the contest and scored the final six goals of the quarter.  Piper Conlan got the Griffins on the board at the 7:51 mark.  Just forty seconds later Jaclyn Frank tied the score at two with her first of the contest.  Only 16 seconds later, the Griffins took their first lead of the game on Conlan's second goal.  Frank, Megan Bunker and Carleigh Sutfin closed out the scoring for the Griffins in the first quarter as SHU led 6-2 after one.

Just like the first quarter, Lock Haven scored the first two goals of the second quarter to trim the SHU lead to 6-4 with 10:14 remaining in the half.  SHU then answered like they did in the first quarter, scoring the final four goals of the quarter.  Sutfin scored her second less than a minute after Lock Haven cut the SHU lead to two.  Grace Agnello, Hannah Thompson and Conlan scored the final three goals of the half as SHU entered the halftime break with a 10-4 lead.

Lock Haven outscored the Griffins by a 2-1 margin in the third period with Frank scoring the lone SHU goal.  The Griffins led 11-6 heading to the fourth quarter.

The Eagles got back to within four with a goal twenty seconds into the fourth quarter.  The Griffins answered right back like they did two other times in the contest by scoring four straight goals, two from Thompson and two from Conlan.  Agnello's second of the game closed out the scoring for SHU.

SHU outshot Lock Haven 37-17 in the contest and held a 30-13 advantage in shots on goal.  The Griffins finished with 25 draw controls to just three for LHU.  Bunker had 20 of the 25 draw controls for the Griffins.

Conlan paced the offense with five goals.  Frank added eight points on three goals and five assists.  Thompson also scored three times.  Sutfin and Agnello each added two goals.  Kyleigh Hessian made four saves in a quarter of work.

SHU will close out the home portion of their regular season schedule on Saturday afternoon when they host Gannon.
