The Seton Hill track and field teams competed in two different meets on Saturday afternoon. A small portion of the squad traveled to High Point, NC and the High Point VertKlasse Meet. The rest of the team competed at Slippery Rock University in the Dave Labor Invitational.
The Griffins had two first place finishes and two more top eight finishes at High Point while they had fifteen top eight finishes at Slippery Rock.
At High Point,
Samuel Hartman again impressed with two first place finishes. He was first in the 110 hurdles in a time of 51.63 seconds and first in the 400 hurdles in a time of 14.02 seconds. Those two times are the fastest times in the PSAC this season.
Ben Hartman was fifth in his 110 hurdles race in a time of 15.64 seconds.
Noah Flaherty was seventh in the 800 in a time of 1:58.77 seconds.
At Slippery Rock, the Griffin women had ten top eight finishes.
Leading the way were
Darby Roth and
Alyson Taylor. Roth was second in the 800 (2:19.85) while Taylor was second in the 400 hurdles (1:05.93). The team had two third place finishes.
Keelin Becker was third in the triple jump with a leap of 10.59 meters while
Samantha Gravatt was third in the javelin with a toss of 40.06 meters.
Anna Roberts was fourth in the 400 hurdles (1:08.83).
Alexis Cunningham (4:50.98) was fifth in the 1500 while
Sydney Wolf was seventh (4:53.45).
Anessa Pigula was seventh in the steeple with a time of 12:36.78.
Sarah Gilliam was seventh in the hammer with a toss of 45.56 meters.
Ainsley Plumadore was eighth in the 400 with a time of 1:02.11.
On the men's side,
Al Lindstrom was fifth in the steeple with a time of 10:15.11.
Gabriel McConville was sixth in the 1500 (3:57.35) while Anthony Sacco was sixth in the 110 hurdles (16.46).
John Giansante was eighth in the triple jump (12.97m) and
Alex Martin was eighth in the hammer (50.15m).
The Griffins will head to the Duke Open and the John Homon Open at Mount Union next weekend.
