Griffins Complete Sweep of LeMoyne

Seton Hill closed out their three game set with LeMoyne as they looked to sweep the series in Greensburg.

The Griffins scored four runs in the first three innings as they completed the sweep of the Dolphins with an 8-2 win.  SHU improves to 11-4-1 on the season while the Dolphins fall to 7-11.

It did not take the Griffins long to get on the scoreboard as Owen Sabol led off the bottom of the first inning with a homer to left center field to give SHU a 1-0 lead.

SHU added two more unearned runs in the bottom of the second inning.  Neal McDermott was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.  Max Mandler walked with one out and both moved up on a Zachary Ramach sacrifice bunt.  Both runners then scored when Sabol reached on an error.

Isaiah DiAndreth homered with one out in the third inning to increase the Griffins lead to 4-0.  LeMoyne got that run right back in the top half of the fourth inning to cut the lead back to three.

The Griffins added two runs in the fifth inning.  Owen Sabol drew a leadoff walk.  After stealing second, Sabol scored on an RBI double from Jack Oberdorf.  Oberdorf scored when DiAndreth singled to center field as SHU took a 6-1 lead.

Sabol added two more insurance runs with a two out, two RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning.

DiAndreth led the Griffins with three hits including a homer.  Sabol added a double, homer and three RBI.    Oberdorf added an RBI with a double.

The Griffins will open PSAC West play next weekend as they host Pitt Johnstown on Friday afternoon in a doubleheader.
