Seton Hill made the short trip to Indiana, PA for a Saturday night matchup with the #3 Crimson Hawks at the KCAC.
The #3 Crimson Hawks were too much for the Griffins as they clinched their sixth straight PSAC West title with a 78-53 win over the Griffins. Â
IUP scored the first six points of the game as they took an early advantage. A jumper from
Drew Green and a
Samuel Tabe layup cut the IUP lead to 8-4 with 16 minutes to play in the first half. The Crimson Hawks responded with a 9-0 run to increase their lead to 17-4 with 13:14 to play. IUP used two more 7-0 runs as they built their halftime lead to 47-22.
The Griffins scored the first six points of the second half on field goals from Tabe, Green and
Miles Monchecourt. Â
Over a six minute stretch in the second half, the Griffins outscored the Crimson Hawks by a 15-7 margin. Â
Seton Hill scored the final six points of the game on a three point play from
Uzziah Bird, two free throws from
Adnan Sbai and a free throw from Kam'Ron Simmons. Â
Green and
Jaylen Stewart led the Griffins with nine points each. Tabe and Monchecourt each added eight points.
SHU will close out the home portion of their schedule on Wednesday evening when they host UPJ.Â
