The Griffin track and field teams kicked off their 2022-23 indoor track season on the road at Tiffin University and the Tiffin University Open on Friday evening.  

The teams combined for a total of thirteen top ten finishes and seven top five finishes in the event.  

Both Hunter Martin, Blair Harris, Sarah Gilliam and Alyson Taylor each had two top ten finishes.  Martin was second in the long jump with a mark of 6.72 meters and tenth in the 400 in a time of 53.03.  Taylor was fifth in two events, the 400 and long jump.  She had a mark of 4.88 meters in the long jump and 1:02.78 in the 400.  Blair Harris was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 11.88 meters.  Sarah Gilliam placed seventh in the event with a toss of 11.75 meters.  Gilliam was sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 15.42 meters while Harris was ninth with a toss of 13.96 meters.  

Haley Brenny was eighth in the 400 with a time of 1:03.79.  

Ben Hartman placed third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.66.  SHU had three top six finishes in the triple jump.  John Giansante was second with a mark of 12.89 meters.  Nicholas Seto was fifth with a jump of 11.90 meters and Jameson Kutz was sixth with a leap of 11.39 meters.  

The Griffins will be off for the Christmas break and return to the track on January 14th at Capital University's Comet Opener.
